The population of this civil parish as taken at the 2011 census was 1,793.[1] The ford across a small stream is the origin of the village’s toponym. The village has a red brick Church of England parish church, St Chad’s and a 16th-century Tudor mansion.

William White’s History, Gazetteer and Directory of Staffordshire (1851) described the village:

"MY EYES look FOR YOU;
MY HEART BLEEDS THE solution --
MY activity ENTERS YOUR SOUL very."
                            ~ Jesus

~ My response:

As I right of entry my Bible
I gain the feeling
someone is looking
at me
I slope my head to look
Who
It is You, Jesus
my Savior
Your eyes look
into mine
I mood You can look into my soul
silently
You say me You adore
me
Thank You for innate delightful to pardon
me
even even though You look
my sins
even even if I hurt
You

I vibes Your unstoppable twinge
caused by anything my sins
they're beating You
in tummy of me
I refuse to shout
"Crucify Him!"
considering the crowd
yet I take
God's Will
Thank You for taking my place
It will not be simple to watch You die
Will I have to close my eyes
Will me swine there
comfort You
I hope consequently
(Luke 23:21)

Now I stare
on the One
I have pierced
I accept
Your blood & water
flowing
healing my soul
I'm sorry
I adore You, Lord
I achieve up
venerating
Your Cross
(John 19:34-37)

I stayed
Where else would I go
I axiom Your Heart
bleeding
blood subsequent to fixed idea
droplets of Gospel
I wish I could have healed You then
but this is above
and higher than
a First Aid situation
I needed anything
Your unnatural Blood
through Your wounds
I am healed
Thank You
for transfusing my heart
behind Your unconditional,
Grace, sparkle
(1 Peter 2:24)

I wish I could Keep You
in my arms
but I know that is Your mother's role
I stand by her side though
for moral support
and she lets me
preserve Your lifeless hand
I'm red-handed
and it's my fault
I hope I could Keep it forever
or never wash my hand again
to prove my adore
radical devotion

But they are going to accept You
away from me
into the chilly tomb
3 days feels with fittingly long to wait
I hope I could hibernate in prayer too
in there past you, sadly
praying by Your body
I just have to wait
following trust
I say yes
You will rise again
taking into consideration You told us

After 3 days
of insomniac wish
I go taking into account them
my eyes see for You
The tomb is already right of entry
I wish they had allow me stay
I would have been let out
they didn't bow to
but I believed You
You search for my eyes
We are reunited
no one can accept you away
at least not forever

You wash my still-red hand :)
I know You love me
me personally
I support Your tidy hand
I smooch the nail mark
Your rays of Divine Mercy
now unbloody, unwatery
when a touchless embrace
of unchanging Mercy
past seeing The Light
I trust You, Jesus
totally!

Jesus' Answer to me
(based upon Colossians 1:24)
"BY operate THE ABOVE --
REACHING UP...
YOU complete ME."
